I have a Samantha dress listed on Ebay right now. It is a girls size 12 with a matching French hairbow. My question is this...It has a very different tag on the inside that has a girl reading a book and then the size/wash care instruction tag next to it. All of the other tags I see on dresses have a silver pleasant company tag in the zipper area, my is sewn on in the neck area. I think it may be one of the first ones...........any info would help as I am going to take a pic and add some more info today.
Specifics of tag:
Red/White American Girl reading a book while lying down, under that it reads: Pleasant Company, then reads: The American Girl Collection

Sorry.........forgot to introduce myself. Just in such a hurry to find out about this dress, that I forgot. I actually found out about the site when I asked the question on another collector's site and she did not have the answer so referred me to y'all.
I sooooo hope someone here can HELP me.
O.K now for the intro:
My girls have dolls........I just enjoy theirs!!
Cheap way out......I suppose.
We have Felicity, Samantha, Kirsten, and 2 Bitty Babies.
Also have some of the acessory sets, but mostly clothes for them. When my girls were "little" I used to take them to the American Girl gatherings....parties (I guess you could say) sponsered by the AG company. They had raffles, speakers and lunch. That was fun. Now they are older (22, and 20), and my little one now is not into dolls too much (boo-hoo).
I would love to have Nellie and Kit for myself...just have never wanted to spend the $ on myself. My oldest daughter and I will sometimes get out their accessories and clothes and change them or oooh and aaahhh over them. Well that about says it for the intro.......except I have 5 boys and 5 girls!!

LOL! I think it's so funny that you almost forgot the most remarkable part--you have 5 boys and 5 girls! More power to you!

My kids are my WHOLE life.......never a dull moment, never a silent moment, and NEVER an alone moment.........but also such GREAT fun and always tons of EXCITEMENT.
They are all wonderful!
I kid everyone that I always wanted 5 kids before I got married, but ended up with 5 of each (that's what happens when you don't specify)....just kidding, ha!ha!

I'm actually a little jealous. I am the oldest of 6, and we only have two grown sons. It feels too early to be finished already.

Welcome, Kathi! I hope you enjoy reading our board and will share doll stories with us! I'm sorry, I don't have the answer to your question about the Samantha Dress Tag, but we have never owned any of the girl-size clothes at our house. My youngest daughter - who is now 22 - is the one who started us on AG dolls, but we had too many kids to get much AG stuff as well. My husband and I would joke (before kids) thay we would have a couple of dozen of them, but only ended up with 3 boys and 4 girls. Now that our kids have grown and gone, we are buying dolls for me!!!

Thanks everyone for the welcomes......good to be here. I love the way everyone sets up ALL their dolls and has them "pretending" with each other.
That sounds like a fun thing to do.........maybe my daughter and I will give it a go and make some pics......she's the photographer (amateur) in our family!!
Oh well......guess no one could answer the question.......but y'all sure are freindly folks!!
Thanks again.
